I was employed and retired from General Motors after 34 years. During this time, I was elected to the Executive Board and served as the Service Representative and a Benefit Representative for 28 of those years. During that time I assisted people with their appeals regarding sick, CPP, EI, WSIB and Veteran Benefit claims. I also assisted in retirement benefits for survivors in out community.
I was elected to the Oshawa Labour Council and the Canadian Labour Congress. In this I support our working class and our seniors.
I was elected as the commissioner of the Oshawa Public Utilities Commission therefore being the only candidate in Ward 4 that has had previous experience as an elected official.
I have been involved as a as building director of the Harmony King Coop. Served on the Durham Save a Heart, Fundraiser for the Lakeridge Cancer Centre and our local YMCA.
I was founding member of the Ontario Regiment Military Museum Ferrett Club.
I was an activist that supported development of the new GM Centre/Tribute Centre, home of the Oshawa Generals.
I have been long time supporter of the Oshawa Waterfront Development.
In February of 2010 I had the great honor of being appointed to the Canada Pension Appeals Board as the community member for Oshawa. I assisted community member in their appeals for benefits.
In March of 2007, I was honored with the Ontario Volunteer Service Award.
I am a veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces and serviced overseas with the Ontario Regiment.
I have worked in the Motion Picture Industry as a consultant with some films being made in Oshawa. Also had a role as actor in the movie Police Academy. Check it out.
